@article{Babar_2011, title={Endometrial Carcinoma - A six year review}, volume={11}, url={https://www.jpmi.org.pk/index.php/jpmi/article/view/585}, abstractNote={<table border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" width="446"><colgroup span="1"><col span="1" width="446"></col></colgroup><tbody><tr height="289"><td class="xl65" width="446" height="289">This is a retrospective analysis of the management of 91 patients of endomeetiral carcinoma in South Cleveland Hospital (SCH), Middlesbrough, United kingdom. 82% (75 cases) were adenocarcinomas, 10% (9 cases) were papillary adenocarcinoma, squamous carcinomas. there was no patient with clear cell carcinoma. in cases of adenocarcinoma, 52.17% were well differntiated, 30.34% were moderately differntiated and 17.39% were poorly differentiated at diagnosis 91.2% presented with postendometrium. 81.6% of the patients presented between the age of 51 - 800 years with stage 1 disease. 97% of the patients had total abdominal hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy. Only one patietns had a wertheim’s hysterectomy. 84.61% were given progesterone for a period of 12 - 18  months. Two cases had chemotherapy, one for recurrence with distant metastases and the other for associated ovarian carcinoma. Cumulatively, of the 91 patients treated for the six year period, 76 were alive at the time of study. Except stage II disease, the management of endometrial carcinoma in SCH is up to the standard as the new staging would dictate.</td></tr></tbody></table>}, number={2}, journal={Journal of Postgraduate Medical Institute}, author={Babar, Mussarat Jabeen}, year={2011}, month={Sep.} }
