On the work up of 102 case of moderate and large pericardial effusions, 36% tuned up to be having confirmed tuberculosis while 26% cases had high suspicion of tuberculosis. Pyogenic effusion cases were 8% only and were present in younger age group, were much less in number pointing to the fact that tuberculosis was the commonest etiology, justifying antituberculous empirical therapy in our setup.</td></tr></tbody></table> ER -
